FAQ
Short answers to common questions.
Is DurgX open source?
No. DurgX is proprietary software by Galaxyium. The ISO is free to download. The source code is not published.
Can I use it in production?
Not yet. v0.1-alpha is for evaluation and is not certified for safety-critical use.
What hardware does it run on?
64-bit x86 computers (Intel and AMD) with UEFI or BIOS. The reference setup is QEMU with 4 cores and 512 MB of memory. The design is portable to ARM64, but the current ISO is x86_64 only.
Can I run Linux programs?
Not in this alpha. A compatibility layer is planned. See Linux apps.
How do I write my own app?
Start with Build apps. The developer kit is not public yet, so email [email protected] for early access.
Why does a driver crash not take down the system?
Because drivers run as limited programs in their own memory, not inside the kernel. See Crashes and recovery.
How do I report a bug or ask for help?
Email [email protected] with what you did and what you saw.
